Trivandrum based artist Reshma Thomas recently exhibited her latest installments titled ‘Secret Metamorphosois’, a collection of ‘Bark’ paintings at Golf Club, Trivandrum.
The event was inaugurated by Dr.Meena T Pillai, B.Arundathi, G.Venugopal and Unni R.
Her canvas gracefully speaks about the power of transformation and emotions that we go through in life. Her latest works gives us a closer look to understand the beauty, shapes and toughness of bark in trees, which reflects the transformation it had gone through in each season and in all weather. The tree barks and colors used in each canvas tell a unique story, letting us explore the deeper perspective of life.
The exhibition held from 18th to 21st featured 40 paintings and used tree barks of Mahogany and Anjili. A photography contest titled “Changing Perspectives” was also held as part of the exhibition and the first place was bagged by P.Abhijith.
The Movement, a volunteer mobilization platform that aims to bridge the underprivileged to the gifts, talents, and resources of the privileged, is hosting a live musical concert by Hillsong Live; with a caption “Say No to Violence, Yes to Music”. The event will be held at Central Stadium, Statue Junction, Trivandrum, on 16th December from 5 pm onwards.

The 22nd edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) has geared up to host a two-day workshop on ‘Empowerment of Women in Cinema Workshop’, to facilitate greater participation of women filmmakers and technicians. The workshop will be held during the course of the festival from 12th to 13th of December.
‘Empowerment of Women in Cinema Workshop’ is organized by IFFK in corporation with Basil Content Media.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a session on ‘Building a Better Society’ on 8th November, at Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, Trivandrum. The city is cleaning up to host the most prestigious movie event – The International Film Festival of Kerala. Held in December every year, the 22nd edition has quite some showstoppers under its sleeve. International competitors include German and Iranian movies along with entries from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
