FB designed a feature to mute friends online

Facebook is launching a ‘Snooze’ feature that will allow users to temporarily unfollow or mute a Person, Page or Group. The feature will not only notify its user just before the Snooze period is about to end, but also it allows users to reverse the setting at any time.

The snooze is temporary which lasts for 30 days.  Click on the Option button in the top-right corner of a post and select ‘Snooze’ in order to mute a person, page or group; meanwhile, the person, page or group which is under snooze remains blind to the effect.

Facebook Creator app for video creators  

Facebook has released ‘Facebook Creator’ for video creators. This app includes a bunch of tools for streaming video, updating Stories, and message people across Facebook’s different platforms.

Facebook has long had an app for people who manage Facebook Pages, and it’s also had an app for celebrities that did this kind of community building too. Facebook Creator is just an updated and rebranded version of that app- called Facebook Mentions.


Creator app includes some special features for Facebook Live. Anyone using it will be able to create custom intros and outros and custom emoji reactions to their live broadcasts  The app is also able to take and edit photos and post them to Facebook Stories and other platforms.

The app also creates a unified inbox for comments on Facebook and Instagram and messages from Messenger, so that you don’t have to bounce between different apps in order to respond to people. The app is available on iOS immediately and is supposed to come to Android in the coming months.


Google Maps gets a new look

Google Maps has updated driving, navigation, transit and explore maps to highlight information that the company thinks will be most relevant.

When you schedule an event using Google Calendar, get a reservation confirmation in Gmail, or add a restaurant to your “Want to Go” list, Google Maps reflects that too. Google Maps with a new look that better reflects your world, Google Maps said in a blog post on Wednesday.

Google has also updated color scheme and added new icons to help the users quickly identify exactly what kind of point of interest they are looking at.

Places like a cafe, church, museum or hospital will have a designated colour and icon so that it’s easy to find that type of destination on the map. People will see these changes over the next few weeks in all Google products that incorporate Google Maps, including the Assistant, Search, Earth, and Android Auto, the blog post adds.

The update will also appear in the apps, websites and experiences offered by companies that use Google Maps APIs as well.

Mozilla Firefox is now ‘Firefox Quantum’  

Mozilla launched its long awaited browser Firefox Quantum for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, and Windows. The biggest update in 13 years Firefox Quantum, also called Firefox 57,  It is built to be faster and easier to use. the new browser is twice as fast compared to  old Firefox

Mozilla released a test version of Firefox Quantum web browser in September in preparation for its upcoming official debut in November.

Speed is the big message that Mozilla is pushing with Firefox Quantum.  Firefox Quantum is capable of 66 runs per minute. Mozilla says Firefox Quantum also uses 30% less memory than Google Chrome.

Firefox Quantum is available to download for Windows, Mac, Linux, the mobile versions at Play store and App store have also been updated.

Moto X4 price starts at Rs 20,999

Motorola has launched the Moto X4 in India at a starting price of Rs 20,999. For the 3 GB RAM variant with 32 GB of onboard storage and Rs 22,999 for the variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.  The Moto X4 comes with a metal and glass design, a dual camera setup at the back, Bluetooth 5.0. The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

The Moto X4 features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) LTPS IPS LCD display panel with a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass.

Moto X4 comes with a 16 MP camera module with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash unit on the front of the device for good selfies. The back camera can shoot 4K video at 30 fps and the front camera can shoot 1080p video. Moto has packed a 3,000 mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery with TurboCharge technology for faster charging.

This device comes with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.  Moto X4 will be available in two colours, Super Black and Sterling Blue.

Twitter display names up to 50 characters

Your Twitter display name can be up to 50 characters in length. Twitter on Friday announced extending character count for display names on the platform. The move comes shortly after the company increased character count for tweets from 140 characters to 280 characters.

Twitter claimed that while users stayed within the 140-character limit wherever possible and kept the brevity of the medium intact, certain issues required more comprehensive and structured tweets, thus enabling them to tweet easily and more often.

How to change your username on Twitter

On desktop, click on Profile icon > drop down menu > Settings and Privacy. Next, go to Account and update your new username, which is listed in the Username field. Click the Save changes.

On Android or iOS app, go to Settings and Privacy and tap Account. Tap username and enter your new username. Tap Done.

Flipkart’s Billion Capture+: Sale starts on 15 Nov

Flipkart is gearing up to launch its first-ever smart phone Billion Capture+ in India on 15 November. The phone will support latest stock android Nougat come with two dual back cameras. The user will get super night mode and bokeh effect in this cameras. Flipcart officials said that in Billion Capture+, hours of charging can be done in minutes and the smartphone will also support unlimited cloud storage.
